Van de 39,022 miljoen transacties, 13,686 miljoen zijn geregistreerd in Nedelrand en de overgebleven 25,336 miljoen zijn geregistreerd in het buitenland. De transactiewaarde kan opgedeeld worden in €1,420 miljard in Nederland en €2,283 miljard in het buitenland.

Op 31 maart 2016 zijn er 6.249.231 kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie in Nederland, een toename van 25.156, oftewel 0,40%, in een periode van 3 maanden. 33,972 miljoen transacties zijn geregistreerd door kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie gedurende de drie maanden (kwartiel 1 2016), wat in een waarde van €3,365 miljard resulteert. Van de 33,972 miljoen transacties, 12,241 miljoen zijn geregistreerd in Nedelrand en de overgebleven 21,731 miljoen zijn geregistreerd in het buitenland. De transactiewaarde kan opgedeeld worden in €1,323 miljard in Nederland en €2,042 miljard in het buitenland.

Op 30 juni 2016 zijn er 6.272.401 kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie in Nederland, een toename van 48.326, oftewel 0,78%, in een periode van 6 maanden. 39,219 miljoen transacties zijn geregistreerd door kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie gedurende de drie maanden (kwartiel 2 2016), wat in een waarde van €3,593 miljard resulteert. Op 30 september 2016 zijn er 6.308.938 kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie in Nederland, een toename van 84.863, oftewel 1,36%, in een periode van 9 maanden. 45,597 miljoen transacties zijn geregistreerd door kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie gedurende de drie maanden (kwartiel 3 2016), wat in een waarde van €3,892 miljard resulteert. Van de 45,597 miljoen transacties, 12,983 miljoen zijn geregistreerd in Nedelrand en de overgebleven 32,614 miljoen zijn geregistreerd in het buitenland. Op 31 december 2016 zijn er 6.296.775 kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie in Nederland, een toename van 72.700, oftewel 1,17%, in een periode van 12 maanden. 40,063 miljoen transacties zijn geregistreerd door kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie gedurende de drie maanden (kwartiel 4 2016), wat in een waarde van €3,596 miljard resulteert. Van de 40,063 miljoen transacties, 14,868 miljoen zijn geregistreerd in Nedelrand en de overgebleven 25,195 miljoen zijn geregistreerd in het buitenland. De transactiewaarde kan opgedeeld worden in €1,506 miljard in Nederland en €2,090 miljard in het buitenland. Gedurende de periode van twaalf maanden die eindigde op 31 december 2016, een totaal van 158,851 miljoen transacties is geregistreerd met een totale waarde van €14,446 miljard.

Vanaf 2016 heeft Nederland een bevolking van 17,0 miljoen met een BNP (bruto nationaal product) van €702,6 miljard. Omgezet is dit €41.300 BNP per hoofd van de bevolking. Nederland draag daarom 4,7% bij aan het totale BNP van de EU.

Vanaf 31 december 2016 zijn er 37.448.400 betaalkaarten verstrekt in Nederland (2,20 per hoofd van de bevolking), een daling van 526.000, oftewel 1,39%, vergelijken met 37.974.400 in 2015. Er zijn 5.436.000 kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debetfunctie in Nederland vanaf 31 december 2016, een toename van 433.000, oftewel 8,65%, vergeleken met de 5.003.000 kaarten in 2015. Er zijn 7.788.400 kaarten met een debet en/of vertraagde debetfunctie in Nederland vanaf 31 december 2016, een daling van 507.400, oftewel 6,12%, vergeleken met de 8.295.500 kaarten in 2015. Debet kaarten nemen dal met 426.500, oftewel 1,63%, naar 25.724.000 in 2016, vergeleken met 26.150.540 in 2015.

De 5.436.000 kaarten me een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie kan worden opgebroken in:-

  • 293.100 kredietkaarten op 31 december 2016, een daling van 126.400, oftewel 30,13%, vergeleken met 419.500 op 31 december 2015.
  • 2.424.900 kaarten met een krediet en/of debet functie op 31 december 2016, een toename van 342.900, oftewel 16,47%, vergeleken met 2.082.000 op 31 december 2015.
  • 2.718.000 kaarten met een vertraagde debet functie op 31 december 2016, een toename van 216.500, oftewel 8.65%, vergeleken met 2.501.500 op 31 december 2015.

Totale kaart betalingen in aantal en waarde
In 2016 waren er 3.946,4 miljoen transacties door kaartbetaling in Nederland (232,14 transacties per hoofd van de bevolking), een toename van 372,8 miljoen, oftewel 10,43%, vergeleken met 3.573,6 miljoen in 2015. Van deze transacties, 158,8 miljoen, oftewel 4,02%, zijn betaald met een kaart met krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie, een toename van 17,6 miljoen, oftewel 12,46%, vergeleken met 141,2 miljoen in 2015. De rest van de transacties door kaartbetaling (3.743,1 miljoen) zijn betaald met een debet kaart, een toename van 351,1 miljoen, oftewel 10,35% , vergeleken met 3.392,0 miljoen in 2015. Het totale aantal transacties door kaartbetaling in Nederland draagt 6,6% bij aan het totale aantal transacties van de EU.

De totale kaartbetalingen in 2016 hebben een waarde van €131,7 miljard (€7.747 per hoofd van de bevolking), een toename van €9,2 miljard, oftewel 7,51%, vergelijken met €122,5 miljard in 2015. Dit omgerekend is €33,4 per kaart betaalde transactie, een daling van €34,3 in 2015. Van deze transacties, €14,4 miljard, oftewel 10,93%, is betaald door kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie, een toename van €1 miljard, oftewel 7,46%, vergeleken met €13,4 miljard in 2015. De rest van de kaartbetalingen, met een waarde van €112,5 miljard, zijn betaald met debetkaarten, een toename van €8,1 miljard, oftewel 7,76%, vergeleken met 104,4 miljard in 2015. De totale waarde van kaartbetalingen heeft een bijdrage van 4,5% aan de transactiewaarde van de EU in totaal.

Er zijn 8.295.500 kaarten met een debet en/of vertraagde debetfunctie in Nederland vanaf 31 december 2015. Debet kaarten nemen toe met 572.910, oftewel 2,24%, naar 26.150.540 in 2015, vergeleken met 25.577.630 in 2014.

De 5.003.000 kaarten me een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie kan worden opgebroken in:-

  • 419.500 kredietkaarten op 31 december 2015, een daling van 29.200, oftewel 6,51%, vergeleken met 448.700 op 31 december 2014.
  • 2.082.000 kaarten met een krediet en/of debet functie op 31 december 2015, een daling van 1.206.900, oftewel 36,70%, vergeleken met 3.288.900 op 31 december 2014.
  • 2.501.500 kaarten met een vertraagde debet functie op 31 december 2015, een daling van 149.800, oftewel 5,65%, vergeleken met 2.651.300 op 31 december 2014.

Totale kaart betalingen in aantal en waarde
In 2015 waren er 3.573,6 miljoen transacties door kaartbetaling in Nederland (211,46 transacties per hoofd van de bevolking), een toename van 404,9 miljoen, oftewel 12,78%, vergeleken met 3.168,7 miljoen in 2014. Van deze transacties, 141,2 miljoen, oftewel 3,95%, zijn betaald met een kaart met krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie, een toename van 10 miljoen, oftewel 7,62%, vergeleken met 131,2 miljoen in 2014. De rest van de transacties door kaartbetaling (3.392,0 miljoen) zijn betaald met een debet kaart, een toename van 354,5 miljoen, oftewel 11,67% , vergeleken met 3.037,5 miljoen in 2014. Het totale aantal transacties door kaartbetaling in Nederland draagt 6,53% bij aan het totale aantal transacties van de EU.

De totale kaartbetalingen in 2015 hebben een waarde van €122,5 miljard (€7.249 per hoofd van de bevolking), een toename van €13 miljard, oftewel 11,87%, vergelijken met €109,5 miljard in 2014. Dit omgerekend is €34,3 per kaart betaalde transactie, een daling van €34,6 in 2014. Van deze transacties, €13,4 miljard, oftewel 10,94%, is betaald door kaarten met een krediet en/of vertraagde debet functie, een toename van €1,3 miljard, oftewel 10,74%, vergeleken met €12,1 miljard in 2014. De rest van de kaartbetalingen, met een waarde van €104,4 miljard, zijn betaald met debetkaarten, een toename van €7 miljard, oftewel 7,19%, vergeleken met €97,4 miljard in 2014. De totale waarde van kaartbetalingen heeft een bijdrage van 4,7% aan de transactiewaarde van de EU in totaal.

Een daling in het aantal creditcards heeft de groei van het totale aantal en de transactiewaarde van betalingen met creditcard in 2015 niet beïnvloedt. Waar een toename in het totale aantal debet kaarten de groei van het totale aantal en de transactiewaarde met een debetkaart juist bevorderd heeft.

Total Card Payments in Volume and Value
For 2016, there are 3,946.4 millions of card payment transactions in Netherlands(232.14 transactions per capita), an increase of 372.8 millions or 10.43% compares to 3,573.6 millions in 2015. Out of these transactions, 158.8 millions or 4.02% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, an increase of 17.6 millions or 12.46% compares to 141.2 millions in 2015. The decrease in number of credit cards has not affected the growth in the total credit card payments in volume and value in 2015. Whereas the increase in the number of debit cards helps to spur the growth of total debit card payments in volume and value.
