The decrease in number of credit cards has not affected the growth in the total credit card payments in volume and value in 2015. Whereas the increase in the number of debit cards helps to spur the growth of total debit card payments in volume and value.

This also translates into €35.7 per card payment transaction, a decrease from €37.4 in 2012. Out of these transactions, €11.34 billions or 11.00% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, a marginal increase of €0.07 billions or 0.62% compares to €11.27 billions in 2012. The rest of card payments, €91.76 billions in value is paid by debit cards, an increase of €4.27 billions or 4.88 compares to €87.49 billions in 2012. Netherlands total card payment value contributes 4.78% to the EU total transactions value.

The growth in number of credit cards has contributed to the increase in the total credit card payments in volume, while the total value increase marginally in 2013. Whereas the marginal decrease in the number of debit cards does not affect the growth of total debit card payments in volume, with a slight increase in value recorded.

Out of these transactions, €11.27 billions or 11.41% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, a marginal increase of €0.07 billions or 0.63% compares to €11.20 billions in 2011. The rest of card payments, €87.49 billions in value is paid by debit cards, an increase of €2.38 billions or 2.80% compares to €85.11 billions in 2011. Netherlands total card payment value contributes 4.85% to the EU total transactions value.

Unlike previous year, the stagnant growth in number of credit cards has directly affected the total credit card payments in volume and value in 2012 with a slower growth recorded. Whereas the marginal increase in the number of debit cards helps to spur the growth of total debit card payments in volume with slight increase in value.

Similar to previous year, even though the growth in number of credit cards stagnant, the growth of total credit card payments in volume and value continues in 2011. Whereas the marginal increase in the number of debit cards helps to spur the growth of total debit card payments in volume with slight increase in value.

Even though the growth in number of credit cards stagnant, the growth of total credit card payments in volume and value continues. Whereas the marginal increase in the number of debit cards helps to spur the growth of total debit card payments in volume and value.

The credit card outstanding balances as at 31 December 2010 stood at €1,414 millions, an increase of €46 millions or 3.36% compares to €1,368 millions in the same period in 2009.
