Il y a 9 300 cartes avec une fonction de crédit et / ou de débit différé au 31 décembre 2016, soit une augmentation de 1 100 ou 13,41% par rapport à 8 200 en 2015. Les cartes de débit diminuent de 121 300 ou de 0,71% à 16 900 600 en 2016, contre 17 021 900 en 2015.

L’encours du crédit à la consommation en Belgique(ce qui inclut les cartes de credits et prets personnels) s'élève à 11 015 millions d'euros au 30 juin 2018, soit une augmentation de 47 millions d'euros ou 0,43% par rapport à 10 968 millions d'euros au 31 mai 2018.

Total des paiements par carte en volume et en valeur

En 2016, il y a 1 702,2 millions d'opérations de paiement par carte en Belgique (150,64 transactions par habitant), soit une augmentation de 145,3 millions ou 9,33% par rapport à 1 556,9 millions en 2015. Sur ces transactions, 2,3 millions ou 0,14% sont payés par carte de crédit, ce qui est similaire au nombre de transactions par carte de crédit enregistrées en 2015. 255,0 millions ou 14,98% sont payés par cartes avec crédit et / ou débit différé, soit une augmentation de 56,7 millions ou 28,59% contre 198,3 millions en 2015. 3,7 millions ou 0,24% sont payés par des cartes avec une fonction de débit différé. Les autres transactions de paiement par carte (1 441,2 millions) sont payées par cartes de débit, soit une augmentation de 88,7 millions ou 6,56% par rapport à 1 352,5 millions en 2015. Le total des transactions de paiement par carte en Belgique contribue à 2,9% du nombre total de transactions dans l'UE.

Le montant total des paiements par carte pour 2016 est de 80,1 milliards d'euros (7 090 euros par habitant), soit une augmentation de 2,4 milliards d'euros ou 3,09% par rapport à 77,7 milliards d'euros en 2015. Cela se traduit également par 47,06 diminuer de 49,91 € en 2015. Sur ces transactions, 0,3 milliard d'euros ou 0,37% sont dépensés par carte de crédit, soit l identique au montant des transactions par carte de crédit enregistré en 2015. 18,4 milliards d'euros ou 22,97% sont dépensés par des cartes avec une fonction de crédit et / ou de débit différé, soit une augmentation de 1,7 milliard d'euros, soit 10,18%, contre 16,7 milliards d'euros en 2015. 0,4 milliards d'euros ou 0,50% sont dépensés par les cartes avec une fonction de débit différé. Le solde des paiements par carte, d'une valeur de 61,0 milliards d'euros, est payé par cartes de débit, soit une augmentation de 0,8 milliard d'euros, soit 1,33%, contre 60,2 milliards d'euros en 2015. La valeur totale du paiement par carte en Belgique contribue à hauteur de 2,7% à la valeur totale des transactions de l'UE.

This also translates into €47.06 per card payment transaction, a decrease from €49.91 in 2015. Out of these transactions, €0.3 billions or 0.37% is paid by credit card, similar to the credit card transactions amount recorded in 2015. €18.4 billions or 22.97% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, an increase of €1.7 billions or 10.18% compares to €16.7 billions in 2015. €0.4 billions or 0.50% is paid by cards with a delayed debit function. The rest of card payments, €61.0 billions in value is paid by debit cards, an increase of €0.8 billions or 1.33% compares to €60.2 billions in 2015. Belgium total card payment value contributes 2.7% to the EU total transactions value.

The total card payments for 2015 is €77.67 billions in value(€6.93 thousands per capita), an increase of €3.94 billions or 5.34% compares to €73.73 billions in 2014. This also translates into €49.89 per card payment transaction, a small increase from €48.88 in 2014. Out of these transactions, €0.29 billions or 0.37% is paid by credit card, an increase of €0.02 billions or 7.41% compares to €0.27 billions in 2014. €16.74 billions or 21.55% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, an increase of €3.31 billions or 24.65% compares to €13.43 billions in 2014. €0.4 billions or 0.51% is paid by cards with a delayed debit function. As at 31st December 2014, there are 21,949,240 payment cards issued in Belgium(1.97 cards per capita), an increase of 1,907,900 or 9.52% compares to 20,041,340 in 2013. There are 2,102,090 credit cards, 1,795,320 cards with a debit and/or delayed debit function and 1,828,360 cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function in Belgium as at 31st December 2014. Debit cards increase by 539,080 or 3.44% to 16,223,480 in 2014, compares to 15,684,400 in 2013.

For 2014, there are 1,508.24 millions of card payment transactions in Belgium(135.15 transactions per capita), an increase of 175.99 millions or 13.21% compares to 1,332.25 millions in 2013. Out of these transactions, 2.18 millions or 0.14% is paid by credit cards, 3.85 millions or 0.26% is paid by cards with a debit and/or delayed debit function, and 152.69 millions or 10.12% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function. The rest of card payment transactions(1,349.52 millions) are paid by debit cards, an increase of 180.96 millions or 15.49% compares to 1,168.56 millions in 2013. Belgium total card payment transactions volume contributes 3.18% to the EU total number of transactions.

The total card payments for 2014 is €73.73 billions in value(€6.61 thousands per capita), an increase of €2.22 billions or 3.10% compares to €71.51 billions in 2013. This also translates into €48.88 per card payment transaction, a decrease from €53.7 in 2013. Out of these transactions, €0.27 billions or 0.37% is paid by credit card, €0.44 billions or 0.60% is paid by cards with a delayed debit function, €13.43 billions or 18.22% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function. €0.4 billions or 0.54% is paid by cards with a delayed debit function. The rest of card payments, €59.60 billions in value is paid by debit cards, an increase of €2.88 billions or 5.08% compares to €56.72 billions in 2013. Belgium total card payment value contributes 3.16% to the EU total transactions value.

As at 31st December 2013, there are 20,041,340 payment cards issued in Belgium(1.80 cards per capita), a decrease of 605,740 or 2.93% compares to 20,647,080 in 2012. There are 4,356,940 cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function in Belgium as at 31st December 2013, a decrease of 93,360 or 2.10% compares to 4,450,300 in 2012. Debit cards decrease by 512,380 or 3.16% to 15,684,400 in 2013, compares to 16,196,780 in 2012.

For 2013, there are 1,332.25 millions of card payment transactions in Belgium(119.91 transactions per capita), an increase of 105.37 millions or 8.59% compares to 1,226.88 millions in 2012. Out of these transactions, 163.69 millions or 11.35% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, an increase of 24.41 millions or 17.53% compares to 139.28 millions in 2012. The rest of card payment transactions(1,168.56 millions) are paid by debit cards, an increase of 80.96 millions or 7.44% compares to 1,087.60 millions in 2012. Belgium total card payment transactions volume contributes 3.05% to the EU total number of transactions.

The total card payments for 2013 is €71.51 billions in value(€6.44 thousands per capita), an increase of €4.61 billions or 6.89% compares to €66.90 billions in 2012. This also translates into €53.7 per card payment transaction, a decrease from €54.5 in 2012. Out of these transactions, €14.79 billions or 20.68% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, an increase of €1.70 billions or 12.99% compares to €13.09 billions in 2012. The rest of card payments, €56.72 billions in value is paid by debit cards, an increase of €2.90 billions or 5.39% compares to €53.82 billions in 2012. Belgium total card payment value contributes 3.31% to the EU total transactions value.

The decrease in number of cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function did not affect the growth of the total payment transactions volume and value.

As of 2012, Belgium has a population of 11.05 millions with a GDP(gross domestic product) of €376.23 billions. This translates into €34.04 thousands of GDP per capita. Belgium contributes 2.91% of the EU total GDP.

As at 31st December 2012, there are 20,647,080 payment cards issued in Belgium(1.87 cards per capita), an increase of 641,890 or 3.21% compares to 20,005,190 in 2011. There are 4,450,300 cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function in Belgium as at 31st December 2012, an increase of 152,080 or 3.54% compares to 4,298,220 in 2011. Debit cards increase by 489,820 or 3.12% to 16,196,780 in 2012, compares to 15,706,960 in 2011.

The rest of card payment transactions(1,087.60 millions) are paid by debit cards, an increase of 67.03 millions or 6.57% compares to 1,020.57 millions in 2011. Belgium total card payment transactions volume contributes 3.08% to the EU total number of transactions.

The total card payments for 2012 is €66.90 billions in value(€6.05 thousands per capita), an increase of €3.60 billions or 5.69% compares to €63.30 billions in 2011. This also translates into €54.5 per card payment transaction, a marginal decrease from €54.8 in 2011. Out of these transactions, €13.09 billions or 19.57% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, an increase of €0.17 billions or 1.32% compares to €12.92 billions in 2011. The rest of card payments, €53.82 billions in value is paid by debit cards, an increase of €3.44 billions or 6.83% compares to €50.38 billions in 2011. Belgium total card payment value contributes 3.28% to the EU total transactions value.

Out of these transactions, €11.94 billions or 20.33% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, an increase of €0.88 billions or 7.96% compares to €11.06 billions in 2009. The rest of card payments, €46.80 billions in value is paid by debit cards, an increase of €3.12 billions or 7.14% compares to €43.68 billions in 2009. Out of these transactions, €11.06 billions or 20.20% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, a slight decrease of €0.02 billions or 0.18% compares to €11.08 billions in 2008. Out of these transactions, €11.08 billions or 21.04% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, an increase of €0.84 billions or 8.20% compares to €10.24 billions in 2007.
