Out of these transactions, €54.20 billions or 46.43% is paid by cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function, a decrease of €1.84 billions or 3.51% compares to €52.36 billions in 2007. The rest of card payments, €62.54 billions in value is paid by debit cards, a decrease of €14.03 billions or 18.32% compares to €76.57 billions in 2007. Italy total card payment value contributes 7.00% to the EU total transactions value.
