A 31 de diciembre de 2009, las entidades operativas inscritas en el Registro administrativo de entidades aseguradoras, ascendían a 294, frente a las 296 que ejercían su actividad en el ejercicio 2008.
Durante el año 2009 dejaron de ser operativas 12 entidades aseguradoras: 10 sociedades anónimas, 1 mutua y 1 mutualidad de previsión social. 10 nuevas entidades aseguradoras inscritas : 8 sociedades
anónimas autorizadas en 2009 y 2 mutualidades de previsión social que ampliaron su ámbito de actuación de una Comunidad Autónoma a todo el territorio nacional durante este ejercicio.
A lo largo del ejercicio 2009, dentro del proceso de mantenimiento y actualización del Registro administrativo de mediadores de seguros y reaseguros privados, la DGSFP tramitó las solicitudes de alta,
baja o modificación presentadas. Como resultado de este proceso se encuentran inscritos en el registro administrativo 93.962(95.858 en 2008) agentes exclusivos, distribuidos en las siguientes categorías:
- Agente exclusivo persona física (80.707)
- Sociedad de agencia exclusiva (13.231)
- Operador banca seguros exclusivo (24)
Primas Devengadas Brutas Durante el año 2009 se ha producido un incremento de las primas devengadas brutas por habitante de un 0,28 por ciento con respecto al año anterior, manteniéndose la
tendencia de creciente penetración social del seguro que ya se iniciara en el ejercicio 2003. El importe de primas brutas (en euros) por habitante mantiene en 2009 también su tendencia
creciente aunque el incremento en el 2009(€1.291,54) ha sido inferior al del 2008(€1.287,92).
Primas Devengadas Brutas
Durante el año 2009 se ha producido un incremento de las primas devengadas brutas por habitante de un 0,28 por ciento con respecto al año anterior, manteniéndose la tendencia de creciente penetración
social del seguro que ya se iniciara en el ejercicio 2003. El importe de primas brutas (en euros) por habitante mantiene en 2009 también su tendencia creciente aunque el incremento en el 2009 ha sido inferior al del 2008.
Durante el año 2009 la recaudación de primas por seguro directo y reaseguro aceptado de las entidades aseguradoras sujetas al control de la Dirección General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones, excluidas las mutualidades
de previsión social, y según datos provisionales, alcanzó la cifra de 60.374 millones de euros, importe que supone un incremento, con respecto a 2008(59.447 millones de euros), del 1,56 por ciento, crecimiento notablemente
inferior al del año anterior.
En 2009, España ocupó el sexto lugar en European insurance mercado en términos de total de las primas devengadas brutas.
Continuando la tendencia iniciada en 2008, la tasa de variación del seguro de vida(23.246 millones de euros en 2007; 26.850 millones de euros en 2008 y 28.538 millones de euros en 2009) durante el ejercicio 2009 fue positiva,
frente a un recién iniciado decrecimiento de los seguros de no vida(31.832 millones de euros en 2007; 32.597 millones de euros en 2008 y 31.836 millones de euros en 2009), más expuestos a los efectos del descenso en el consumo.
Así, la caída de no vida fue de un 2,33 por ciento (frente al crecimiento del 2,40 en 2008 y del 5,04 por ciento en 2007) mientras que el desarrollo que experimentaron los seguros vida se situó en el 6,29 por ciento (crecimiento
sin embargo más débil que en el 2008 que alcanzó el 15,50 por ciento).
Finalizado el proceso de exteriorización de compromisos por pensiones en el año 2002, a partir del ejercicio 2003 permaneció en general estable la participación de los ramos vida y no vida en el conjunto del sector. Sin embargo esta tendencia
cambió a partir del 2007 ya que desde entonces el ramo de vida ha ido incrementando su peso en el total del sector acercándose al 50 por ciento en el 2009(52,73% no vida; 47,27 Vida).
